Letter to the Romans

Brothers and sisters: Through one man sin entered the world, and through sin, death, and thus death came to all men, inasmuch as all sinned—
But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by that one person's transgression the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one person Jesus Christ overflow for the many.
For if, by the transgression of one person, death came to reign through that one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of justification come to reign in life through the one person Jesus Christ.
In conclusion, just as through one transgression condemnation came upon all, so through one righteous act acquittal and life came to all.
For just as through the disobedience of one person the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of one the many will be made righteous.
The law entered in so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more,
so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through justification for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Sacrifice or oblation you wished not,
but ears open to obedience you gave me.
Burnt offerings or sin-offerings you sought not;
then said I, “Behold I come.”
“In the written scroll it is prescribed for me,
To do your will, O my God, is my delight,

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke

Jesus said to his disciples: “Gird your loins and light your lamps
and be like servants who await their master's return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks.
Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.
And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants."

St. Hilarion(Abbot and Hermit (291-371))

SAINT HILARION Abbot and Hermit (291-371) St. Hilarion was born near Gaza. While studying grammar in Alexandria, he encountered Jesus through Christians' lives and prayers. He then visited St. Antony in the Arabian desert and became a solitary at 15 years old. Drawn by Hilarion's sanctity and yearning to lead holy lives, many monks and disciples thronged the desert. Hilarion thus moved to another country seeking greater solitude. However, miracles of mercy often announced his presence. His last retreat in Cyprus was broken by a paralytic, who was cured by St. Hilarion, but then magnified the Saint and spread his fame. Alban Butler paraphrased St. Hilarion's final moments saying, "Go forth, my soul; why dost thou doubt? Thou hast served God nigh seventy years and dost thou fear death?" St. Hilarion entered Heaven after a life of prayer and good works. His every action was with supernatural intention, which drew him closer to God and becoming like Christ.

St. Ursula(Virgin and Martyr († 453))

SAINT URSULA Virgin and Martyr ( 453) A number of Christian families entrusted the education of their children to St. Ursula. Some repentant persons also placed themselves under her direction. When England was attacked by Saxons, Ursula sought asylum in Gaul. She established an abode near Cologne on the borders of the Rhine. However, an army of Huns attacked and humiliated her community. By refusing to put aside their dignity, the women were imperiled and in danger of death. Ursula edified her sisters, and was martyred with them in 453. St. Ursula is a patroness of young women and teachers.
